Carole once touted horsetail a common herb. That herb while not containing
AAs it tends to damage kidneys.

This telling quote in the article has special meaning. There is little to
no regulation or certification of herbalists. Buyers need to beware, many
herbs have been dusted with lead, arsenic or real drugs.

"Herbal remedies are often seen as harmless, soothing treatments that tap
into the ancient wisdom of traditional healing. While that may be the case
for some, there are also those that cause cancer—and sometimes it’s nearly
impossible to tell one from the other."

I don't recall carole touting the benefits of herbs. Wasn't she into
cellsalts? Horsetail isn't generally recognised as a herb, rather a
condiment to be added to meat in sandwiches. Sort of like pickles or
chutney.

Well hell bob, there is no regulation on junk food but it kills
people, and more than herbs and condiments.

Obviously a person has to take herbal remedies with some caution - the
right dose for the right condition. Maybe that fact escaped your keen
mind.

Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) is used to make a condiment and sometimes
as a herb in folk medicine it is related to the mustard plant.

Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is a plant used in folk remedies. It's claims
to be effective is considered folklore and not reliable. There are some
warning about the use of horsetail on webMD site. The most dangerous it it
contains a chemical called thiaminase which breaks down thiamine and could
create a vitamin deficiency. It is also a diuretic which could create low
potassium levels.
