2. What is the penalty for working on the Sabbath?
1. You will be stoned to death.
This and other similar old rules were probably the reason God sent
Jesus to lead us out of those mixed up, messed up, old laws and get us
back on track with God by and through the new covenant. Satan had
successfully intervened in those early religious structures and the
whole system was far off track with God. Gordon
From what you tell me that was what God wanted all along.
God wanted to feel needed so he caused trouble for us.
No, not at all! God wanted and still wants us to learn enough about
all the effects of sin and rebellion to assure Him that none of us
will ever want to go back and mess around with it any more, once we've
been granted immortality and absolute sovereignty.
Post by Lucifer MorningstarWhen Jesus came to earth he could have told us about
the germ theory of disease. That would have saved a great
many lives and proven for all time that Christianity was the
one true religion.

I'm sure He could have told us about the germ theory but this would
have cut short our long period of learning about the effects of sin
and rebellion. It doesn't have to be our own sin that brings suffering
to us, specifically. The sins of others, down through the ages, are
the cause of many of our sufferings and inconveniences.
How do you think HIV AIDS virus got into the human population? I've
read that it was probably transferred from some apes to humans who
raped a female ape that they had just killed, and thereby became
infected. Could this be classified as a form of sin that induced a lot
of suffering and deaths to humans who were not involved with apes in
any way?
