Research on Natural Alternatives To Ibuprofen
http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/ibuprofen-kills-more-pain-so-what-alternatives

"Here is some evidence-based research on alternatives to ibuprofen,
sourced from the National Library of Medicine:

Ginger – A 2009 study found that ginger capsules (250 mg, four
times daily) were as effective as the drugs mefenamic acid and
ibuprofen for relieving pain in women associated with their menstrual
cycle (primary dysmenorrhea). [7]
Topical Arnica – A 2007 human study found that topical treatment
with arnica was as effective as ibuprofen for hand osteoarthritis, but
with lower incidence of side effects.[8]
Combination: Astaxanthin, Ginkgo biloba and Vitamin C - A 2011
animal study found this combination to be equal to or better than
ibuprofen for reducing asthma-associated respiratory inflammation.[9]
Chinese Skullcap (baicalin) – A 2003 animal study found that a
compound in Chinese skullcap known as baicalin was equipotent to
ibuprofen in reducing pain.[10]
Omega-3 fatty acids: A 2006 human study found that omega-3 fatty
acids (between 1200-2400 mg daily) were as effective as ibuprofen in
reducing arthritis pain, but with the added benefit of having less
side effects.[11]
Panax Ginseng – A 2008 animal study found that panax ginseng had
analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity similar to ibuprofen,
indicating its possible anti-rheumatoid arthritis properties.[12]
St. John's Wort – A 2004 animal study found that St. John's wort
was twice as effective as ibuprofen as a pain-killer.[13]
Anthrocyanins from Sweet Cherries & Raspberries – A 2001 study
cell study found that anthrocyanins extracted from raspberries and
sweet cherries were as effective as ibuprofen and naproxen at
suppressing the inflammation-associated enzyme known as
cyclooxygenase-1 and 2.[14]
Holy Basil – A 2000 study found that holy basil contains compounds
with anti-inflammatory activity comparable to ibuprofen, naproxen and
aspirin.[15]
Olive Oil (oleocanthal) – a compound found within olive oil known
as oleocanthal has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties
similar to ibuprofen.[16] "

And so on.
Big pharma says there are no alternatives to "safe and efficacious"
pharmaceutical drugs. However, in this article (above) it shows how
dangerous these petrochemical derived drugs are and how there are
alternatives without the side effects.

Where's the alt med remedy for a stroke?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but a stroke is where a blood clot blocks off
a portion of the brain and that piece of brain dies. Same as a heart
attack but in a different organ.

Why would there be a remedy for dead brain?

Letting someone die who comes to the Emergency Room, suffering
from a stroke, is unacceptable in mainstream medicine.

But then, this ng already knows what you're about.

People recover from strokes and go on to live meaningful lives.
It wouldn't be possible without pharmaceutical products.

Why don't you get a book about strokes from your local library and do
your own homework.

Or better, make an appointment to sit with a stroke specialist at your
local health care system. As an English major and budding journalist
dedicated to accuracy in reporting, interview him for a blog entry.

No necessarily, with quick treatment the problem of cellar death can be
mitigated. The are blood thinners and clot dissolvers which can be
employed, there is a certain small amount of flow around the blockage in
some cases. Each case is different. It depends on the where the loss of
blood flow takes place, and type and reason the loss of blood flow.

She's too busy with her agenda (contra evidence-based medicine and/or

Or just too lazy to have learned about strokes via reading at
her local public library.

They do have public libraries in Oz, don't they?

that part of the brain die?
No necessarily, with quick treatment the problem of cellar death can be
mitigated. The are blood thinners and clot dissolvers which can be
employed, there is a certain small amount of flow around the blockage in
some cases. Each case is different. It depends on the where the loss of
blood flow takes place, and type and reason the loss of blood flow.
It won't happen with "alternative medicines" like "a little baking soda
in water" or "calcium tablets."

Please answer the question.
In some types of injury the placement of a shut can remove the
pressure and restore blood flow59 effected areas.
She's too busy with her agenda (contra evidence-based medicine and/or
pharmaceutical products) to do her own homework.
Or just too lazy to have learned about strokes via reading at
her local public library.
They do have public libraries in Oz, don't they?
It would be a lot easier if she would just use Google.
I was hoping she'd do it the way it was done before the advent of
Google, as a learning experience.
She uses Google now. That is where she finds her crappy experts.

Why don't you explain what the procedure is and what drugs are used
and what for?

But then, this ng already knows what you're about.
People recover from strokes and go on to live meaningful lives.

Good old google university! Where if enough people agree with the absurd
it certainly must be true in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

Research on Natural Alternatives To Ibuprofen

"Here is some evidence-based research on alternatives to ibuprofen,
Ginger – A 2009 study found that ginger capsules (250 mg, four
times daily) were as effective as the drugs mefenamic acid and
ibuprofen for relieving pain in women associated with their menstrual
cycle (primary dysmenorrhea).
You keep telling us that our medical problems can be cure with a proper diet.
Then you come up with so called Natural Remedies that are not strictly diet.

I forgot to mention that this website seems to be selling books.
Then when you buy the books find the process of obtaining and processing
these natural cures to the point that dose is high enough to be effective
makes them more expensive than the standard medication and OTCs.

Just because a study finds "X" contains compounds "Y" which is effective as
"Z" in doing something, it does not give dosages or the amount of "X" one
needs to consume to obtain an effective dosage.

So the above study which reports Anthrocyanins extracted from cherries are
as effective "as ibuprofen and naproxen at suppressing the
inflammation-associated enzyme known as cyclooxygenase-1 and 2", it fails
to tell you how many pounds of fruit was used to extract enough of the
Anthrocyanins to have an effective dose. I doubt one could safely eat
enough of the fruit to digest an effective dosage.

The article would like you to believe that just drinking a tea, or eating
something will be an effective treatment because the compound in a study
has shown some degree of effectiveness. The truth is far from what the
article implied.
